Why should you try Access BARS®️?

What is it?

The Access BARS®️ protocol is a set of 32 points on the head which, when lightly touched by a Bars practitioner, stimulate positive change in the brain and defragment the electro-magnetic components of stress, thoughts and emotions. This gentle, non-invasive technique works on releasing both physical and mental blocks stored in the body and helps facilitate greater ease in all different areas of life. In addition to being a supremely relaxing experience, the Access BARS®️ session can help with the following:

Who is my practitioner?

At Acu-Na Wellness Center, Access BARS is offered by certified practitioner Bettye Dorn. She is in her 3rd year of practicing the BARS exclusively, in addition to her previous years of experience as a Reiki master. She was introduced to the BARS system through a friend she met at a conference, and she was so inspired that she signed up for a BARS class before she had even experienced a treatment! Bettye is passionate about the Access BARS because she has seen its healing power, particularly to promote acceptance and moving through challenges. It is a therapeutic tool that is deeply empowering to the individual, and also contributes to raising the consciousness of the world as a whole. It is currently used in businesses, schools, and even prisons around the world to facilitate greater health and wellbeing.


What’s it like?

A BARS session usually lasts for 60-90 minutes and feels like a gentle head massage. This is a process you can undertake as a one-time, monthly, weekly, or even daily experience. Every session is unique, and each session can address different issues and release mental blocks and negative experiences that may have accumulated since your last session.

The effects of Access BARS®️ are individual to each person and differ from session to session. In addition to improved physical health, recipients have reported greater intuitive awareness, more gratitude, kindness, peace and calm and easier communication.

The first BARS session was facilitated by Gary Douglas of Access Consciousness over 25 years ago. Since then, it has expanded into 173 countries and boasts more than 3000 trained Access BARS®️ facilitators worldwide.


How does it work?

When lightly touched, the BARS points stimulate a positive neurological response inside the recipient. This appears to trigger the body’s natural ability to heal and facilitate the physiological changes required for greater wellbeing.


Is it scientifically valid?

Neuroscientist, Dr. Jeffery Fannin, has conducted a preliminary study in which he mapped the activity of the brain before and after a BARS session. He found that the neurological advantages of a single session are similar to the positive effect enjoyed by advanced meditators- AND it produces these results immediately.

Clinical research by Dr. Terrie Hope PHD, DNM, CFMW published in the Journal of Energy Psychology: Theory, Research, and Treatment in November 2017 has revealed the results of one 90 minute Access BARS®️ session indicated a significant decrease in the severity of depression and anxiety.

From the results of four scientifically valid standardized questionnaires and through measuring brainwave patterns using brain mapping (QEEG) Dr. Hope discovered in her study that Access BARS®️ reduced the severity of anxiety symptoms by 84.7% (average). Participants had a reduction in the severity of depression symptoms by 82.7% (average).

The results of brainwave measurements before and after Access BARS®️ show an increase in brain coherence in all participants, indicating a change toward a normal state after the session. Brain wave coherence is associated with communication between brain regions and researchers have found that optimal brain coherence is correlated with many things such as intelligence, learning ability, alertness, reaction time, and creativity.
